I am running Windows Server 2003 on three machines; one runs this website, the other is a secondary domain controller,
and the third hosts the internal website.
For the workstations in the domain, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. There are three machines currently using it.
I'm running Windows Sever 2008 R2 on my main domain controller and previously used Server 2008 before R2 was released.
In the past, I've run Windows NT 4.0 Workstation and Server, Windows 2000 Professional
and Server, Windows XP, and Windows Vista. Before I got my feet wet in networking, I was running
DOS 6.22/Windows 3.1 (good old days!),
Windows 95 and Windows 98.
I have an Asus EEE PC which runs Windows 7 (it's one of the three mentioned above for my workstations)
and I use it when I'm out and about in general, and on service calls.
The heart of the network is nothing more than the 2wire wired/wirless residential gateway provided with ATT's Uverse service.
NAT is enabled and is forwarding traffic over port 80 and 25 to the web and e-mail server. FTP ports are opened whenever I feel like it
and whenever I feel like spending an afternoon laughing at everyone who tries to login with usernames like "admin" or "root" or "administrator."
Sorry, no dice guys! Try again!
